Hi Guys!
So I thought I would write a post for all you up and coming photographers trying to get your names out there and get noticed. We'll, I wont say its easy but If you look in the right places you will have far better chances.
Most photographers (like me) cant wait to see their photos being shown in a professional gallery. If your anything like me, than you dreamed about it since you where a little child. Today photography galleries can most commonly be found in strong art communities, forming a gallery haven for us photographers and art junkies. There we can see where the trends are taking us and keep up to date on it all. These paces do a good job of keeping themselves hidden in places you wouldn't necessarily look.
Working with a gallery is a great way to become a part of your local art community and get your work seen by potential buyers. Strong relationships with galleries are vital to photographers hoping to showcase their art at upcoming shows.
One great place worse that includes hundreds of gallerias, publications and other market contacts is www.artistsmarketonline.com.
Some other good ways to showcase your photography:
Social Media
Platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, and Google + are great new ways to get your photography noticed by galleries and publications nationwide. Exchanging information and building relationships is the perfect way to get connections.
Research
Do your research & ask questions is so vital in this industry. Find your favorite gallerias by researching past shows and events. Many galleries prefer digital submissions, but always double check to ensure that you meet all submission requirements before sending your portfolio.
